Most of you don't know, but I've been battling cancer for the last several months. Large "B" cell Lymphoma. A really long way of saying I have a tumor in my lympn system. Two days after my 33rd b-day I ended up in the ER with breathing problems and chest pains. I had this stupid cough for what felt like forever and it just wouldn't go away. Well, in the ER they did a CAT scan and low and behold a tumor was nestled all nice a cozy on my heart--pressing on my lung. Bad tumor.
Went back and forth for a while with the doctors--they figured it was what you call a thymoma--still not good but basically just a cut-out deal. After a whole crap load more pocking and a biopsy, though they settled on lymphoma and I began chemo straight away. Anyway, that's where I've been: Getting the piss whipped out of me by the lovely poison they've been shoving in my veins. I have a nice mettle port in my chest now, too. I tell my kids it makes me bionic.
So far I've had four rounds and still two more to go. The AWESOME news, though is that the last PET scan showed the tumor was gone and cancer cells were no where to be found. YEAH! So, once the next two rounds of torture are finished I should be scott free. Battle won!
I chock it all up to the many people praying for me, loving me, and caring. I've got the best meds in the world every morning when my kids hug and love on me. Nothing could cure me faster than that.
In the spirit of my journey I started an image to depict how I was feeling, what the whole thing meant to me. It's shaping me into a different person, a stronger one, I hope. And in honor of that I wanted to express it.
As you can see there is a LOT of hair (this took for darn ever). I think that was me missing my own locks.
Anyway, it's great to be back with possitive news.

Tread softly because you tread on my dreams
My husband was recently diagnosed with prostate cancer. Since we are in Denmark, they do not screen so the cancer was more progressed. He had 39 radiation treatments, but evidently there is still cancer somewhere so he has to have chemo. He is going to take Taxotere. I pray for him daily. . .
